Kitchen & Bath Environments is a dream realized for three people with a passion for designing and creating new spaces in their clients' homes. Melinda and Ted Uhler came to Raleigh with the goal of opening their own kitchen and bath business after each working in the industry for over 20 years.

The Uhlers have always loved working with customers to create exciting new environments in projects ranging from kitchens and baths to libraries and home theaters and after moving to Raleigh found a great location for a showroom in a neighborhood just inside the Raleigh Beltline off Wade Avenue. Even better, the space was in need of a lot of work. Renovating the old house to create a beautiful new showroom would be the ideal first project for Kitchen & Bath Environments.

Along came Shane. Sometimes timing really is everything. Ted and Melinda began working with Shane Ogilvie in 2005 at a large kitchen and bath distributor in the mid-Atlantic, and a great personal and professional relationship quickly developed. Shane, also a veteran of the kitchen and bath industry, shares the same passion for customer service that the Uhlers have built their careers upon. And, when he too moved to the Raleigh area to be closer to family and friends, a partnership was born: Kitchen & Bath Environments.

A labor of love. Anyone who has ever visited 1213 Ridge Road in the past can appreciate the transformation that has occurred there. The photos on this page reflect just how much the property has changed. What was once a run-of-the-mill office building has been reborn as a fully functional selection center where customers can review plans, select materials and truly see the design of their dreams brought to life.

Melinda Uhler is a member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) and has been published in Main Line House and Home Magazine. Kitchen & Bath Environments is an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau.
